Bel Air Square Pendant (with salvaged auto body steel from a ’57 Chevy Bel Air) – #740

This pendant was hand-forged, by me, from sterling silver sheet and wire, with all pieces cut by hand using a jeweler’s saw.

The pendant features a piece of steel from a 1957 Chevy Bel Air. The information card pictured in this listing will be included with this pendant.

The steel is attached to the silver pendant with a silver tube rivet. The shape of the pendant is clean and modern with a large bail. The metal that makes up the base of the pendant is thick to give this smaller piece a little bit of quality weight.  It goes with everything and works for every body.

The bail on this pendant is somewhat large and you could replace the bead chain that is included with your own chain.

This pendant measures just over 3/4″ wide by 2″ tall.

This is rustic. You can see the hammer marks and rough surface on the metal of the bail. This pendant has a bright, tumble-polish finish but the bail has been finished with a black oxidizing chemical to bring out the hammer marks, and treated with archival wax to help preserve the oxidation. The salvaged auto body steel has been treated with a glossy lacquer to preserve the surface and keep it from rusting, though I still would not recommend wearing it in the shower, pool, or ocean.

This Bel Air body steel is a deep medium blue color.

A 20″ stainless steel bead chain is included. If you want another length of stainless steel chain, let me know and I’ll replace the 20″ chain with one of your desired length (no additional cost – use the “contact” button on the homepage to contact me about another chain length).
