Fused Silver and Auto Body Steel Pendant (with salvaged auto body steel from a ’67 Chevy Impala) – #742

This pendant was hand-forged, by me, from sterling silver wire and fused silver pieces..

The pendant features a piece of steel from a 1967 Chevy Impala. The main body of the pendant consists of fused silver in a rough, irregular shape. The fused center of the pendant is encircled by a silver wire. All parts are soldered together except the shape cut from salvaged auto body steel. The information card pictured in this listing will be included with this pendant.

The steel is attached to the silver pendant with a silver tube rivet. The fused silver base of the pendant was created by heating silver pieces to melting to fuse them together into a thick organic shape that gives this smaller pendant nice weight..

The bail on this pendant is large and you could replace the bead chain that is included with your own chain.

This pendant measures 1″ wide by 1 and 1/8″ tall.

This piece has a black oxidized finish to bring out the texture of the fused silver. It has been treated with an archival acrylic wax to help preserve the oxidized black color. The salvaged auto body steel has been treated with a glossy lacquer to preserve the surface and keep it from rusting, though I still would not recommend wearing it in the shower, pool, or ocean.

This Chevy Impala body steel is a medium blue color .

A 20″ stainless steel bead chain is included. If you want another length of stainless steel chain, let me know and I’ll replace the 20″ chain with one of your desired length (no additional cost – use the “contact” button on the homepage to contact me about another chain length).
