Journey Symbol Pendant – Adventure – #718

This pendant is a symbol I created that is made up of all of the letters in one word.

For this pendant, the symbol is made up of the letters in the word “ADVENTURE”.

The pendants in my Journey Symbol series are meant to remind the wearer of a goal or to evoke a good memory, like a trip or an adventure or even a reminder to be true to yourself. For this one, it could be interpreted as never forgetting to say “yes” to that thing you are a little afraid to try, or as a mantra to always look for the adventure in life. I designed them to be a daily touchstone, a boost you need at a tough moment; something constant. These are very personal and meant to become a part of the wearer over time. I don’t make them often due to how tricky they are to create, but I do a couple very small batched throughout the year.

This hand forged silver pendant measures 1 and 9/16″ tall by 7/8″ wide.

Each pendant comes with the cards shown – the “Journey Symbol” card and a “symbol key” that shows you where every letter in the word appears in the design, each letter on the card highlighted in red.

Why so expensive for a small, lightweight pendant that does not contain much silver (by weight)? You are paying for the time it takes to make these. The design of the symbol is original. Each tiny piece is separate. I hammer the wire flat and cut it to size. Everything is painstakingly soldered together which is challenging when the pieces are tiny and prone to melting. Basically, these pendants require intense focus and more time than something that might be a similar size but with less detail.

Cold-forged by me from sterling silver round wire. This is rustic. You can see the hammer marks and rough surface left by a variety of antique hammers that I use to shape the metal. Integrated bail is soldered closed. The bail is not very large, so swapping a chain in these may be difficult.
