This pendant was hand-forged, by me, from sterling silver sheet and wire, with all pieces cut by hand using a jeweler’s saw.

The pendant features a piece of steel from a 1967 Mercury Cougar. The information card pictured in this listing will be included with this pendant. I salvaged the body metal from a car in a classic car parts yard in South Dakota.

The steel is attached to the silver pendant with two silver tube rivets. The shape of the pendant is clean and modern with a square bail. The metal that makes up the base of the pendant is thick, so this piece has a weighty, quality feel. You can see how thick the metal is in the side-view photo. It goes with everything and works for every body.

The bail on this pendant is somewhat large and you might be able to replace the bead chain that is included with your own chain, as long as the clasp is small enough to fit through the bail.

This pendant measures 1/2 of an inch wide by 2 and 1/16 inches tall.

This is rustic. You can see the hammer marks and rough surface on the metal. This pendant has a bright, tumble-polish finish and the silver has been treated with archival wax to help preserve the shine. The salvaged auto body steel has been treated with a glossy lacquer to preserve the surface and keep it from rusting, though I still would not recommend wearing it in the shower, pool, or ocean.

This Cougar body steel is a red color. It has some small chips in the surface and wear marks.

A 20″ stainless steel bead chain included. If you want another length of stainless steel chain, let me know and I’ll replace the 20″ chain with one of your desired length (no additional cost – use the “contact” button on the homepage to contact me about another chain length).
