Open Road Cuff with Salvaged Auto Body Steel from a 1967 Mercury Cougar and 1967 Chevy Impala – for a 6 and 3/4″ wrist

This sterling silver cuff bracelet is forged and fabricated by me, by hand from heavy silver rectangular wire. The silver is textured with an antique hammer on both ends to give it a “striped” texture pattern. This cuff features two squares of red and one square of blue auto body steel salvaged from a 1967 Mercury Cougar (red) and a 1967 Chevy Impala (blue). The steel is attached to the cuff with three sterling tube rivets and “capped” on each side with square sterling wire. This cuff has comfortable curved ends.
This cuff is heavy and substantial. The surface of the cuff is oxidized with black oxidizer to highlight the hammer marks. The cuff has been treated with archival acrylic wax to help preserve the finish and the steel has been sprayed with a high gloss spray lacquer to help prevent rust. Though the steel has been sealed in this way, I would refrain from submerging it in water such as a lake or pool or shower. Definitely avoid salt water.
The salvaged about body squares are not something that I can curve or it will flake off, so each square has a flatter more “tile like” appearance attached to the curved silver cuff underneath.
This cuff has a hidden message inside in black oxidized stamped lettering which read:
“OPEN ROAD”
