Sterling Silver Spike – #2

Hand-forged with a hammer from a piece of thick square wire to a tapered spike. Topped with a slice of square tubing to recall the shape it had when I started working the metal. No two are ever exactly alike since they are done by hand one at a time.

A thin flash of silver that goes from casual to elegant.

Each spike is treated with black oxidizing chemical to bring out the hammer marks, rubbed to a satin finish with super-fine steel wool, and sealed with archival acrylic wax. On most of them, the circular bail at the top is larger to better accommodate the clasp on your favorite chain if you want to swap it for the included 20″ stainless steel bead chain.

Spike #2 pictured here is 2 and 3/8″ long by 1/8″ wide. The diameter of the bail at the top is a slightly smaller 3/16″.
